How to make money on your news content website
This article is designed to help journalists learn how to make extra money, or even a full-time wage, by publishing independently online. It is not intended to provide an online revenue model for established news organizations. Heck, they've got business managers. They shouldn't need a wiki to show them what to do.
Content websites typically earn money through one of four ways:
Commissions / Affiliate links
Advertising networks
Selling your own ads
Paid content
Sponsorships/Grants
Once you have ads on your site, you will want to compute the eCPM (effective cost per thousand impressions) of revenue that each ad type is earning for you. You calculate eCPM by taking the total amount generated by an ad (or ad type), diving it by the number of pages on which that ad (or ad type) appears, then multiplying by 1,000. Affiliate programs, such as Amazon.com's Associates Program, provided the first ways for early solo and small Web publishers to make a few bucks on their websites. Because you only earn money when sales are made, affiliate programs will work best for you if your site's readers are consistently looking to make high-priced purchases -- for example, if you run a product review site. Americans responded positively and with an overwhelming outpouring of confidence, the people elected the first Black President of the United States on November 4th 2008.

The events associated with the Hart Hill Usain Bolt Homecoming began on Friday September 19 with Usain Bolt doing a series of interviews with the international media Including Bryant Gumbel, BET and Vibe Magazine. The celebrations continued on Saturday September 20 with a press conference at the lush Grand Bahia Principe Hotel. There was then a fun day at the Waldensia primary school hosted by Miss Jamaica 2007 Yendi Phillips. The fun day saw the children of Sherwood Content and surrounding communities being treated to rides and a kiddie park. The children also received school supplies from National Meats/Hart Hill and were visited by the big man Usain Bolt before the end of the treat at 3 pm.

In 2002 when Cordel “Scatta” Burrell debuted the Martial Arts riddim, long-time arch rivals Bounty Killer and Beenie Man went at each other lyrically - Beenie Man with two songs and Bounty Killer with one song - on the riddim.
Now in 2008, Skatta has released the Self Defence riddim (a re-lick of the Martial Arts) and two of the “now” generation of dancehall warriors have come out swinging with hard-hitting songs against each other on this new Self Defence riddim.
So far, Mavado has fired off one song, while Vybz Kartel has fired off two on the riddim. Both artistes were previously “at war” with each other well over a year ago, but things were cooled and a truce called in late February 2007. An uneasy peace has lasted since then, one that has clearly been broken with this new round of songs.

VYBZ KARTEL BIOGRAPHY
Vybz Kartel was born at the Kingston's Victoria Jubilee Hospital. Originally from Waterhouse, Kingston, he was raised in the Waterford community of Portmore, St.Catherine. Adidja attended Calabar High School in Kingston but was expelled as a teenager. Determined to continue his education, he completed his studies at a tutorial technical school. The young Adidja was exposed to a wide variety of music from a tender age by two uncles who happened to be aspiring musicians themselves. Every weekend he would be treated to new musical offerings on his uncle's old component set, ranging from Sam Cooke to country and western ballads to Ninja Man, who became one of his musical foes!! At the age of 10 his favourites included artists as diverse as Papa San, Charlie Chaplin, Will Smith and KRS-1, all of whose lyrics he would write down and study word-for-word, performing them later for the entertainment of friends. Deciding he wanted to be a deejay, he began writing his own lyrics at the age of 11.Eager to show off his skills, Adidja and his friends often frequented the weekly Gong Talent Show at the now defunct Coney Amusement Park on the outskirts of Kingston, but to their chagrin were always gonged off whenever they got a chance to perform. Undeterred by his weekly failure to impress the talent show audience, Adidja decided to hone his skills and concentrate on winning over his own community of Waterford until he was ready for bigger things. With that goal in mind, on weekends he would practise his art on neighbourhood sound systems Soul Signal and Electric Force. In 1993, the young Adidja, now in his early teens, recorded his first single Love Fat Woman for Alvin Reid's One Heart Label under the name Adi Banton, a name he chose in tribute to Buju Banton, another of his role models. He recorded several more tracks for local producers, perfecting his craft until 1996, when he and two friends, Mr Lee and a singer called Escobar, decided to form a group. One night, after watching a movie about Pablo Escobar and his infamous cartel, Adidja came up with a name for his trio: Vibes Cartel.
Mavado / Biography
A reggae singer influenced by the likes of Bounty Killer and Cutty Ranks, David Constantine Brooks, aka Mavado, was born and raised in one of Kingston, Jamaica's more dangerous ghettos, Cassava Piece. Church and a desire to deliver a socially conscious message to the people kept Mavado out of serious trouble. Encouraged by a friend, Mavado visited Junior Reid's recording studio in Kingston, where he met his hero, Bounty Killer. The reggae star recognized the young singer's talent and introduced him to the likes of vocalist Predator and manager Julian Jones-Griffith. In 2004 Mavado released "Real McKoy," his breakthrough single recorded over the Daseca crew's Anger Management riddim. Two years later, the Red Bull and Guinness riddim and the song "Weh Dem a Do" would give him his next big hit, and the successful "Dreaming" and "Bawl Dem a Bawl" singles would follow soon after, but the momentum was almost brought to halt when his father was murdered in Switzerland. After fighting for his father's body and its return to Jamaica, Mavado resolved a feud with fellow dancehall artist Vybz Kartel. The feud was responsible for violence between the artists' crews along with numerous diss tracks, including "Warn Dem" and "Informer" from Mavado and "Alliance Diss" and "Mafraudo" from Kartel. With all this out of the way, Mavado was able to complete his debut album, Gangster for Life, for the VP label. The 2007 release featured more hits like "Top Shotta Nah Miss" and "Dying" plus "Real McKoy with a Full Clip," a new mix of the track that, a year later, would be featured in the popular video game Grand Theft Auto 4: Liberty City. His 2008 cut "I'm on the Rock" would feature Jay-Z on its remix before being re-recorded as "We Need Barack" in support of the presidential hopeful. Out A Road gets to understand that entertainer Vybz Kartel and several other men have been detained by King Fish (cops) earlier today.
An eyewitness told Out A Road that the deejay and friends were hanging out at the studio as usual when a fleet of police stormed onto Kirk Avenue, searched the area and everyone insight before ordering them into one of the several police jeeps.
According to reports, the deejay was held for questioning on a recent incident. Even up to late this evening, the Constabulary Communication Network (CCN) did not confirm as to what incident the deejay was detained for.

At first, this wasn’t taken too seriously, but a vehicle was seen driving up and down the street outside the ZIP station, however the security guard failed to get the licence number of the vehicle,” one source told one876entertainment yesterday.
It is not clear whether the threat has been reported as attempts to speak to Milk or Liquid proved futile. Both parties have repeatedly said, however, that they want to move on with their lives as the act took place between two consenting adults in the privacy of their bedroom. In the meantime, the fallout from the footage continues to mushroom. Milk did not appear on her regular slot on CVM TV's Hitlist last week Saturday and she is also expected to miss today's taping of the show. She had been on 'administrative leave' when the incident broke but returned to work on Monday of this week.
